Privacy
This page explains what information Last Chapter (theendnovel.com) handles and why. The short version: we do not run advertising trackers or analytics scripts, we do not sell anything about you, and the little we keep is there to run the site and answer your messages.
What we collect
- Messages you send. When you use the contact form we store your name, email address and message so we can read and answer it. A copy is forwarded to the inbox we use for the site. We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with the matter, and delete them on request.
- Server logs. Like every website, our server and our network provider record technical details of requests (such as the address requested, the time, the browser type and the IP address) to keep the site working and secure. These logs are kept for a short time and are not used to build profiles.
- Link counts. When someone clicks a labelled bookstore or course link, the site records a simple daily count of which link was used on which page. It does not record who clicked, or your IP address.
The spam check on our forms
Our contact form and the site's administrator login use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. Turnstile may process information about your browser and connection to do that. Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes how it handles that data.
Cookies
Last Chapter does not set cookies for readers. The only cookie we set belongs to the private administrator area. Our cookie page has the details.
Links to bookstores and course sites
Some pages carry labelled notes that link to a bookstore or a course provider, sometimes through an affiliate network such as CJ or MaxBounty. If you follow one of those links, the network and the store or course site may set their own cookies to record that you came from us, so that we can earn a commission if you buy something. That happens on their sites, under their privacy policies, not ours. If Amazon links appear on the site in future, the same applies to Amazon: as an Amazon Associate we would earn from qualifying purchases, and Amazon would set its own cookies when you follow such a link.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, by writing to letters@theendnovel.com or through the contact page. Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page.
